A big thank you for the SmartFire system. I have been shooting displays in South
Africa for the past 12 years with my own electronic firing system. On September
19, 2003 I took delivery of the SmartFire system with the aim of creating a
computerized display for October 3, 2003. As I could not meet up with you for
training in America, your advice to me was that I should not attempt to shoot
the show with SmartFire until I have the necessary training and experience.
Despite not meeting up with you, I received 30 minutes of telephonic assistance
from Tom Ginsburg on how to use the hardware and how to script and choreograph a
show to music. On October 3rd the display took place. I am delighted to tell you
that it was a great success. Each cue fired exactly as planned. We did have a
few minor problems as the wrong products were attached to the wrong pins, this
is the first time my crew ever worked on a computerized firing system so
hopefully this mistake will not happen in the future. Nonetheless, both the
organizers and the sponsors of the event were very happy with the display.
I was truly amazed that I was able to choreograph a computerized show with such
ease and so little training. Your system is so easy to operate despite not
having any prior experience in choreographing fireworks to music with a
computer.
The only problem now is that I need more firing modules! With more modules I can
create scenes that I have always dreamed of!
