Summer and fall 2003
was a busy and successful season
for Pyromate Inc..
Considering the state of our national economy, I was very satisfied with our
sales, especially our new products lines; Gigalink, Smart Fire Wireless, and
Night Hawk systems.
We attended several Fireworks conventions and symposiums, as we do every
year to promote our products, to keep abreast of the evolution of our
industry, and of course, to visit so many of our friends and business
acquaintances all over the world.
1) The PGI Convention August 9–15; Gillette Wyoming
We arrived one week early to install 800 feet of trench and Mortars for the
competition line.
We had everything set for competitors to place their Shells in the ground;
all their guns were pre-wired to the computer and ready to go.

The judges use a computer interface that is used in conjunction with the
SmartFire Computerized Firing System to evaluate the single shell
competition. This is a big improvement over three years ago, when everything
was hand fired and the competitions lasted through the night.

The event was a great success. The demos were superb and the Competition was
flawless.
PGI has a new award for the best demo of the week. This year it was taken by
the Glorious Company who gave a half hour show, with assistance from Melrose
Pyrotechnics. For all the details go and visit the PGI web site.

I will add however, that 'Doctor X' outdid themselves, with Charlie Anderson
and crew’s loudest salutes ever!
2) The NFA Convention, first week of September ; Nebraska.

Their third only event, and the largest to date. The turn out was over 400
guests, for the three day event that featured four or five demos per night.
This is definitely an up and coming convention, and it focuses on fireworks
imports.

3) The APA, ., 2nd week of September; Minneapolis Minn.
This show returned to the Target Center, because we had to cancel on them
back in 2001, due to the events of 911. They were good enough to let us off
the hook for the
Bill back then, and we had promised to return to help them recoup their
losses.
This year, R.E.S. put on the indoor display, entitled “A Tribute To
America”. Terrific.
4) International Symposium on Fireworks, Valencia Spain, Oct. 5 – 10.
CANNET put this Symposium on the week of the National holiday and during the
Festival International Di Pirotecnia in Spain, during the 1 day national
holiday, which lasts all day and all night.
The festivities feature glitzy parades, exotic fire dancing, and sparks
everywhere! The highlight of the day was the 'Mascaletta'!
This was an amazing event which followed our two days of business.
With the Christmas season approaching, we wish you all the very best, and
plenty of snow for the snowmobile fanatics amongst us |
